Module 1: This module provides an overview of the legislation providing for ESE students, an understanding of HCPS’ IEP form and process, and will offer the participants the experience of working with a learning disability. These modules meet the SWD requirements for general educator certification Register HERE

Module 2: This module focuses on building relationships with ESE students, working to bring out the best in students with special needs, and discussing best practice from physical arrangement to the daily nuts and bolts of classroom management. These modules meet the SWD requirements for general educator recertification. Register HERE

Module 3: This module focuses on student behavior. Participants will examine types of misbehavior, the goals of misbehavior, and develop interventions for misbehavior. These modules meet the SWD requirements for general educator recertification. Register HERE

Module 4: This module focuses on developing strategies and accommodations for the variety of learning needs in the classroom. Participants will learn to use a student’s IEP to differentiate instruction and then document those accommodations. Register HERE

Module 5: This module focuses on building relationships with the adults involved with ESE student education. Participants will gain tools to better enable them to communicate and plan with the various adult stakeholders, including parents. These modules meet the SWD requirements for general educator recertification. Register HERE

Module 6: This module focuses on bullying behavior. Participants will learn strategies to identify bullying, as well as gain ideas to be used to educate and prevent bullying. These modules meet the SWD requirements for general educator recertification. Register HERE
